A

you face a hungry lion. you tremble and run away. Simultaneously, you experience fear.
we react to stimulus and experience emotion simultaneously.

James- Lange theory of emotion

A

you face a hungry lion. First, you respond reflexively: trembling, running.. Second, you interpret your own behaviour, leading to the eventual ‘emotion’ “I am trembling/running away. I must be frightened”
Proposes the emotion is the result of arousal
