week 4 PTTR (manipulation and control) Flashcards

1
Q

what is a descriptive research strategy?

A

a strategy that aims to describe a variable/ phenomenon

it does not try and uncover the cause of the phenomenon, or look for correlations between variables

Q

what is the difference between nonexperimental and correlational research?

A

correlational uses one group of participants and two variables

nonexperimental compares two or more groups of scores, using only one variable (so sort of like the participants are the second variable, e.g gender or age)
