Using moxa to apply heat to an area of the body

the application of suction cups to the body
What are the functions of moxa?
1) Warm the channels and collaterals and dispel cold
2) Support yang and stem (prevent) desertion
3) Dispel stasis and dissipate binding (constraint, impediment)
4) Prevent disease by protecting and fortifying
What are the functions of cupping?
1) Open and discharge the interstices
2) Dispel wind and cold
3) Open the channels
4) Move qi and invigorate blood
5) Dispel stasis and engender the new (tissue, blood)
6) Dissipate swelling and stop pain
