What steps should be taken in the event of a stuck or bent needle?
A
- Be calm and comfort the patient
- leave the needle for a few minutes
- Stroke or gently massage the skin around the needle before and while withdrawing
- Recover the original position if stuck due to changed position
- Use warm application around needle
- In severe case, insert needle one inch from stuck needle

A
- withdraw all needle immediately
- help patient lie down in a comfortable position
- offer some warm or sweet drink

A
- make sure patient has eaten
- make sure patient is not exhausted
- position patient in proper orientation

A
- press with dry cotton ball
- apply cold

A
- massage
- apply heat
