What steps should be taken in the event of a stuck or bent needle?

A
  • Be calm and comfort the patient
  • leave the needle for a few minutes
  • Stroke or gently massage the skin around the needle before and while withdrawing
  • Recover the original position if stuck due to changed position
  • Use warm application around needle
  • In severe case, insert needle one inch from stuck needle
