  • The market can dictate the organisational format and nature of sports participation and serve as a natural regulator
  • Politics distracts from athletic performance
  • Govt. involvement = Increased bureaucracy = Increased inefficiency
  • Some athletes may be prevented from competing due to trivial bureaucratic rules
  • Govt. regulates sport for its own good, not for the good of sport
