Definition of Sport (Shilbury) Characteristics:

Sport Management is the
coordination of resources, technologies, processes, personnel and situational contingencies for the efficient production and exchange of sport services.
A sport manager is a person
whose job entails planning, organising, leading and controlling to be performed within the context of an organisation whose primary or predominant product or service is sport or sport like related.
What is the difference between sport management and sport administrator?
Administrator is usually involved in the public sector where a manager is in the private sector. Also a manager is heavily focused on the importance of marketing whereas this isn’t the case with an administrator. Also a manager has direct customer relationships whereas an administrator has indirect contract with customer.

NSOs are
key independent drivers of elite sports performance and are responsible for their own high performance programs and also play a greater role in encouraging participation. They create environments that support coaches, athletes and teams to perform at their best for national and international competition.
