Muscle sliding filament theory step 1
nerve impulse arrives at the neuromuscular joint
-CA is released
Muscle sliding filament theory step 2
- CA binds to troponin on the actin filaments, changing shape and causing movement revealing the active binding site for myosin
- Phosphate gets on the myosin released as the myosin head attaches to the actin. Cross-bridge
Muscle sliding filament theory step 3
- Adenosine diphosphate is expended by a power stroke
- myosin head pulls the actin inward
- Actin and myosin slide past one another causing the sarcomere to shorten.
Muscle sliding filament theory step 4
- Adenosine triphosphate attaches to the myosin head and triggers the release of the myosin head from the actin.
- Myosin head back to resting position and the ATP broken down to phosphate and ADP molecule. recovery stroke
Muscle sliding filament theory step 5
- Cycle is repeated
- sarcomere continue to shorten as long as there is CA
Brachial plexus is?
network of spinal nerves with sensory and motor contribution.
Nervous system is broken into two parts?
Central nervous system
Peripheral nervous system
Central nervous system controls?
Brain/spinal cord
Peripheral nervous system controls?
Motor neurons
sensory neurons
Motor efferent division is broken into?
autonomic nervous system
somatic nervous system
Autonomic nervous system does?
Conducts impulses from the CNS to cardiac muscles, smooth muscles and glands.
