Week 3 - Recording Sports Movements Flashcards
Define shutter speed
Time the sensor of a camera is exposed
What does a faster shutter speed cause and how do we combat this
A darker image (less light can enter)
Combat by additional lighting
What is aperture
The width of exposed lens
What does aperture do and what may we need when we have low aperture
Depth of field increases as aperture decreases
Additional light may be needed
How do we provide scale information
Have two distinct points, that are already measured
Then measure how many pixels that distance is (usually x pixels = 1m)
Calculate any distance by counting pixels and dividing by value for 1m
How can we reduce parallax error
Placing camera perpendicular to plane of movement
What are three ways perspective error can be created
The two points are moved either forwards backwards or on different planes to where they were initially measured
