How did you know you wanted to be a nurse? Through the different ways of knowing
My mom told me to – wok silence
Wok received – my aunt is a nurse and she shared her experiences and I thought it would be great
Wok subjective – it felt right
Procedural – I like knowing what others need to provide care
Imperial – I enjoy the science like biology
Ethical – it’s the right thing to do, giving back
Personal knowing – nursing grandma dying cancer experience
Aesthetics – I saw a movie where I saw a positive role model of nursing and it made me think to do it
Emancipatory knowledge – I want to go help in South Africa they have a real need for medical care in rural area, nurses will work toward making good changes in those areas
