Q

What could happen in a sampling error?

A

Could end up with 2 samples that actually come from different populations
Could end up with a sample from one of each population and be in danger of making a type 1 error.

Q

What happens if the p value is > .05?

A

The probability is high that the null hypothesis is true

The outcome is not significant and the effect is unlikely to be found in the population so cannot be generalised.
