Nocté means ‘at night’, therefore the medication would usually be given either at 1800 hrs. or at 2000 hrs.
What are recommended adminstration times for most medications ordered BD?
0800 hrs. and 2000 hrs.
The order is for TDS
3 times a day, therefore administration would usually be at 0800, 1400, and 2000 hrs.
What are the recommended adminstration times for a medication prescribed QID?
0600 hrs.
1200 hrs.
1800 hrs.
2200 hrs.
How often are you to administer a medication ordered PRN?
he drug is given as needed up to the maximum dose permitted in 24 hours
If a drug has been prescribed as Slow Release how must it be taken?
The dose must be swallowed without being crushed.
When should you give Mane?
In the morning, most likely at 0800 hrs
Are the administration times for a QID medication the same as regular 6 hourly?
No.
Regular 6 hourly means the medication must be given every six hours day and night. Adminstration times are usually 0600, 1200, 1800 and 2400 hrs.
QID the last dose for the day is usually adminstered at 2200 hrs.
