They feel as though they caused it. They worry if they will be forgotten. They still may have an egocentric view and feel as though events that happen in the world are because of their doing.
How do adolescents commonly react to divorce?
They may rebel if they are unable to remain with the parent they favor. It may cause additional role confusion as they may obtain more responsibilities within the new family dynamic that cause them to question their path/purpose “grow up to fast”
