Week 2 Flashcards

1
Q

endomorphy

A

first componenet: relative fatness in phsyique

large anterior posterior diameter of body segments
- Central concentration of mass, abdomen predominates over thorax, rounding of thighs and upper arms, high square shoulders with soft contours, neck appears short and thick

Q

mesomorphy

A

second componenet: refers to relative development of the musculo skeletal system

body appears solid with mass distributed uniformly
- Muscles are large and defined
- Upper arms and forearms are well muscled and evenly proportioned
- Thoracic volume predominates over abdominal volume, relatively slender waist
- Thighs and lower legs are heavily muscled and uniformly proportioned

Q

ectomorphy

A

third component: refers to relative linearity of physique
Begin at 0 and can go as high as 12

- The body has a high degree of lineairty
- Small anterior posterior diameter
- A shoulder droop may be present in extreme cases
- The ribs are prominent
- Shoulders are narrow and lacking muscles
- Both arms and legs tend to be relatively long compared to trunk
- Neck appears to be long and slender
- Clavicles are prominent

17
Q

joint movement: dorsiflexion

A

18
Q

when doing a pull up what are the shoulder joint and gurdle movements

A

downward rotation of the scapula. The rhomboids stabilize the scapula so they can upwardly and downwardly rotate throughout the movement. When pulling the body up, the scapula rotates down. When returning to the starting position, it rotates up.
