What is Parliament?
A representative branch of the British goverment that makes laws
What is the monarch and how do they work with the Prime Minister?
The king and queen, and they work to take action and make laws
Why did Parliament feel it had the right to tax colonists?
They kept colonists safe during the French and Indian War.
What did the colonists say in response to each Act of Parliament?
“No taxation with representation.”
Describe what happened on the night of March 5, 1770.
A guard was on duty when a fight broke out. Shots were fired, and 5 civilians died
What is the difference between Loyalists and Patriots?
Loyalists supported England and Patriots wanted their own independence
What was the outcome of the trial?
Seven weren’t guilty ; two were guilty
Who was Crispus Attucks?
A hero who stood up for and died defending his freedom and rights. He was the first to fall in Boston Massacre
What was Crispus Attucks frustrated about?
The British regulars taking jobs from colonists who wanted to work
What is a surveyor?
A person who examines land and makes a map of it
Which two states borders were defined by the Mason-Dixon Line?
Pennsylvania Colony, and Maryland Colony
What was the Mason Dixon Line used for in the 1700’s, and 1800’s?
1700’s : It was used to settle a disagreement
1800’s : It was used for dividing the North and South
