  • ovarian follicles: primordial (accommodates immature egg cells)
  • mature follicles: theca cells, ovulation
  • corpus luteum (‘yellow body’): hormone factory
  • corpus albicans (‘white body’): if pregnancy doesn’t occur, corpus luteum degenerates into corpus albicans

Day 14: ovulation
Day 26: no baby = corpus luteum to corpus albicans
