What is market basket measure (MBM)
Measure of income required for a family of 4 to purchase a defined set of goods and services (food, clothing, shelter, transportation, household supplies).
What is low income cut-off (LICO)
Based on family income rather than family costs (family is has to spend 20% more of its income than the average family of food, shelter, and clothing).
What is low income measure
A relative measure based on 50% of the adjusted median national income
What is a working poor person
Works full time for at least half the year but whose family income is below a low-income threshold
