Confounding variables
What is it also known as?
Definition?

Q

Randomisation
What is this experiment also kown as?
What is the main problem for researchers when carrying out an experiment? wat is the solution?
Enures that confounding variables remain?
However what could still occur in a random experiment?

A

Random experiment = true experiment
Random assignment ensures that confounding variables remain constant throughout the conditions and do not need to be identified by researchers.

The main issue for researchers when carrying out experiments is that they can not account for every confounding variable. This is solved by random assignments, however sampling error could still occur with random experiments

Q

Objectives for a true/random experiment
Manipulated?
Allocation?
Other factors?

A

Presumed cause of an effect is manipulated
Random assignment of participants in their conditions
Outside factors remain constant

Q

What is the other test which can be used instead of correlation co-effienct?

A

Test of differences: T Test
For example, the extent to which friends are similar in attitudes compared to how similar strangers are in attitudes
If a difference is able to be observed that means that, there is a relationship between the two variables
