Week 1 and 2 RTs (1,2,5,12,14,19) Flashcards
How is seal injection restored per RT-1?
If seal bleedoff/stage temps < 180 deg F, then slowly open CV-1207 to 30 - 40 gpm and place in auto.
If temps > 180 deg F, slowly open SI flow to 8 - 12 gpm and after 30 minutes restore flow to 30-40 gpm and place CV-1207 in auto.
What conditions are required to be met per RT-1 to restore Letdown (RT-13)?
All of the following met:
1) No fuel damage
2) RCS to ICW leak not suspected
3) Desired by CRS
What condition would require Letdown to remain in service per RT-2?
If emergency boration (RT-12) in progress.
What major steps are required to initiate HPI injection per RT-2 with OP or STBY pump running?
1) Open BWST outlet
2) CV-1206 to override
3) Open CV-1220 or CV-1285 HPI Block (If for emergency boration only, return to RT-12)
4) If PZR lvl or RCS pressure continue to drop, open remaining train’s HPI Blocks.
5) If PZR lvl continues to drop, Open BWST outlet for ES pump, Ensure recirc valve open, start aux LO pump and then HPI pump, Open HPI blocks as needed. If additional flow needed, close HPI recircs.
What actions are required if only one train of HPI available and RCS pressure > 600 psig per RT-2?
Throttle HPI block flow with highest flow to within 20 gpm of next highest flow.
What actions are required per RT-2 if leakage into RB indicated?
Maximize RB cooling by ensuring all 4 fans running, service water valves open and bypass dampers unlatched.
What actions are required per RT-2 if needed to maintain makeup tank level?
1) Close HPI pump recirc while ensuring flow remains > 90 gpm per pump.
2) If OP and STBY pump both off, restart per step 3.
3) If OP or STBY pump running, transfer flow from ES pump to OP/STBY pump to maintain level. If within capacity of one HPI pump, secure the ES pump.
What EFW flows are required per RT-5 if SCM not adequate?
1) If both SGs available and less than adequate maintain > 340 gpm to applicable SG until 370 - 410”.
2) If only one SG available, maintain flow > 570 gpm until level 370-410”.
Per RT-5, if SCM adequate and EFW flow less than adequate or excessive what actions are required?
1) Maintain continuous flow until in band
2) Maintain sufficient flow to prevent rise in CET temps with natural circ conditions met
3) Maintain sufficient flow to ensure SG level stable or rising until band met
Per RT-5 what are indications that primary to secondary heat transfer is occuring with RCPs off?
1) Tcold tracking SG Tsat
2) Thot tracking CETs
3) Thot/Tcold delta stable or dropping
What are specific level bands and fill rates specified in the table in RT-5?
1) 20 - 40” with no fill rate with RCPs on
2) 300 - 340” with RCPs off and SCM adequate (2 - 8”/min)
3) 370 - 410” with RCPs off and SCM not adequate (2 - 8”/min)
What are the major actions for RT-12 (Emergency Boration)?
Set batch size to maximum, align flow path, start AVAILABLE pumps, start batch controller. Adjust pzr level to 220”. When pzr level > 100” then maximize letdown.
What requires step 2 to be performed to use HPI for emergency boration?
1) Letdown isolated
2) Both OP and STBY pumps not running
3) Delay in performing step 1 with batch controller or batch controller fails to establish > 5 gpm.
What are major actions for RT-12 when performing step 2 for HPI boration?
Commence RT-2 to place OP HPI pump in service and open 1 HPI block. If L/D in service then place in bleed. Maintain PZR level 200 - 225” by throttling HPI block while ensuring HPI Recirc valve open.
When do PTS limits apply and what actions required per RT-14?
