What are the entry conditions to heat transfer upset section of ICS Abnormal Ops?
1) SASS mismatch for reactor or feedwater controlling input (everything but header pressure and RCS pressure)
2) Uncorrected upset to Tave, neutron flux, FW flow, Delta Tc, SG Level
3) Heat transfer upset not readily diagnosed as external to ICS
What initial actions are taken for heat transfer upset?
MFP stations to auto, diamond in manual, and perform coarse correction to stabilize plant.
What actions are taken in addition if MFW block valves are closed?
SU and LL Valves are taken to hand and adjusted to adjust FW flows since MFP is on DP control.
What is the header pressure value checked and what actions are taken if not within band?
Header pressure is checked between 870 and 930 psig. If not, take turbine (and TBV if affected) to manual and adjust.
What actions are required if control rods need to be withdrawn?
Power band designated
What are the prescribed bands when ICS in hand?
1) Tave 578-580 deg F
2) Header pressure 880 - 910 psig
3) Delta Tc +/- 2 deg F
4) Power < 100%
What are entry conditions for undesired power change?
1) Undesired power change with FW flow trending together, Reactor controls following FW and Crosslimits not in effect
2) SASS mismatch for controlling header pressure
3) Uncorrected upset to controlling steam pressure
What rate does SG/RX move when toggled?
3% per second
What actions are initially required for Undesired Power Change?
1) SG/RX to hand
2) If header pressure impacted, place turbine and TBV is affected to manual and adjust.
How is steam header pressure determined to be impacted?
1) SASS mismatch for header pressure
2) Controlling SG pressure 870 - 930 psig
3) IC08 (throttle pressure error) greater than +/- 10 psig is corrected by turbine.
What are entry conditions for Loss of ICS DC or DC and AC power?
1) ICS aux system power supply trouble
2) Loss of ICS instrument power status lights on C13
3) Loss of hand and auto lights on ICS stations
4) Unit master in track alarm
What are the major actions taken for Loss of ICS power?
1) Trip RX
2) Trip operating feed pumps (MFP and Aux)
3) Perform RT-5 for EFW
4) Open ADV isolations (DC) or TBVs in hand (AC)
How are ICS power supplies reset and restored (DC)?
1) Ensure all 4 power supply switches on
2) Reset and close S-1/S-2 switches
3) Check +/- 24V alarms clear
4) Check ICS station lights lit
5) Restore applicable stations
How is power restored when ICS AC power is lost?
1) Ensure ICS stations in hand
2) Reset RS3-4 if tripped
3) Ensure Y02-34 (Sola xfmr bypass) closed
4) Restore ICS stations and effected components (CV-2827, TBVs)
