What actions are performed prior to leaving the control room?
1) Trip the RX (if fails, depress backup PBs)
2) Close MSIVs
3) ROs/AOs grab kits and CRS obtain master key (in SM office in break glass box or security armory 1st floor admin bldg in break glass box).
4) STA and communicator to TSC (3rd floor admin bldg)
What procedure assumptions are made for alternate shutdown?
1) No coincident design basis accident occurs, only accidents that are direct result of fire.
2) Sufficient time available to perform minimum number of actions prior to evacuation of CR and all actions performed in CR are backed up by follow up actions outside CR.
What exposure limits apply during ASD?
ASD does not authorize any individual to exceed a whole body dose of 5 rem except within guidelines of 1903.033 (Prot action guidelines for rescue/repair and damage control teams “instructions” section).
Why does this procedure constitute invoking 10CFR50.54(x)?
Due to personnel leaving control room which requirements for control room manning are outlined in Tech Specs.
What are the SM actions?
1) Trip Both MFPs
2) Trip main turbine
3) Go to TSC,
4) Direct operators based on plant conditions and track recovery actions via Att 1
How is RCS pressure raised and reduced by this procedure?
How is pzr level controlled?
RCS pressure is raised by cycling HPI breaker to compress PZR steam bubble and lowered by cooling the RCS.
PZR level is raised by cycling HPI pump with 2 HPI MOV valves open.
What actions might be bypassed due to seriousness of the issue?
Actions are not delayed for contamination or security concerns nor the use of PPE if time does not permit.
Prompt completion of this procedure has priority over all procedures and other documents or verbal directions given by any person other than SM or Ops Senior manager.
What actions are performed by the CRS?
1) Open A-3 DC breaker (D11-4) (RA)
2) Open SV-1000 PZR relief valve C30, MFW Turbine Trip Aux Cntrls (D11-24) (RA)
3) Open P-36B MOD control power (RA2-4). (RA)
4) Remaining steps are performed at discretion of SM (Opening A1/A2 breakers, D21 breakers, D11 breakers, etc). Also start CFW if directed.
What is the power supply for C540 (Alt S/D Cabinet)?
Y-22 from D-02
C540 supplies ASD instrumentation and cables do not go through CR.
What indications are used for plant monitoring and control?
SPDS
What major actions are performed by the RO#1?
1) Open CV-1221 breaker (RA).
2) Close CV-1221 (RA).
3) Remaining steps are as directed (Close CV-1274, CV-1000, CV-1408, open CV-1227 & CV-1228 HPI blocks, throttle EFW, etc).
What major actions are performed by RO#2?
1) Open HPI Pump breakers and DC control bkrs open (RA).
2) Ensure P-36B MOD aligned to A-407 (RA).
3) Ensure SW pump aligned to EDG with output breaker closed.
4) If directed, manually start EDG, start HPI Pump, Energize B5/6/57/65, etc
What are AO#1 actions?
1) Ensure EDG SW valves open.
2) As directed, throttle EFW, reset P-7A, etc.
What are major actions for AO#2?
1) Open H1/H2 feeders (RA).
2) If directed, MSIVs, ADVs, Intake Structure for CV-3643, etc.
What are the recovery actions for ASD?
1) If required place CFW in service
2) Open D11-4 (A3 sw gear), D11-24 (SV-1000 PZR relief/MFW turbine trip aux ctrls), and RA2-4 (P-36B MOD).
3) Open CV-1221 breaker
4) Close CV-1221 locally
5) Open A-307/406/407 (P-36B/C breakers and DC control)
6) A-306 (P-36A breaker) open
7) A-407 closed
8) H1 and H2 open
