Can Atlases and Gazetteers be used interchangeably?
No. They complement one another. Maps in Atlases depict info geographically by region, Gazeteers describe geographic places.
Almanacs are distinguished by what features?
Contain statistical info, provides single brief facts, published annually.

An overview of a subject with sources.
What is part of an encyclopedia useful for searching for additional info?

Annual, provides facts about countries, geographical and historical and political overview.
What info does Statistical Abstracts contain?
Topical sections on stuff like population, births, deaths, marriages, elections, law enforcement, income, prices, agriculture, etc
What is a directory?
A list of people or organizations. Used to find names, addresses or other contact info for individuals, organizations or businesses.
What is a biographical resource?
Well known people’s deaths, births, description of life, and accomplishments.
What is an encyclopedia?
A source for detailed info to give an overview of a subject with sources.
Bibliographies are used for?

What’s the main use of dictionaries?
Spelling & definitions. May include charts, tables, etc.
What is an almanac?
