Coriolis effect
The rotation of the Earth that causes objects in the northern hemisphere to deflect right while objects in the southern hemisphere deflect to the left
Jet stream
A band of very fast moving winds caused by differences in temperature
Trade Winds
Winds that blow towards the equator and bring cold air from the poles to the tropics
Doldrums
A spot very close to the equator with very few winds
Prevailing winds
Winds that blow away from the equator and bring warm air from the tropics to the poles
Prevailing Westerlies
Winds that blow away from the equator and blow west to east that can be found over the US
Polar Easterlies
