Front
A boundary between two air masses.
Warm Front
Brings warmer temperatures.Brings long periods of light drizzle.Warm air masses meet and overrides a cold airmass.
Cold Front
Brings colder temperatures. Produces thunderstorms, heavy rain, and snow. Cold air masses meet and causes a warm air mass to rise.
Occluded Front
Brings cooler temperatures
Usually brings more precipitation.
A cold air mass overtakes a slower moving warm air mass and forces warm air up. The cold air continues advancing until it meets another cold air mass.
Stationary Front
Little movement.
Drizzles, doesn’t bring heavy precipitation.
Cold air mass meets a warm air mass and results in little movement.
