Maritime tropical
Warm and wet environment
Continental tropical
Warms and dry environment
Fronts
A boundery between 2 air masses
Warm front
Warm air moves over cold air; warm air mass meets and overrides a cold air mass; brings long periods of light drizzles;
Cold front
Brings cooler temperatures; produces thunderstorms, heavy rain or snow; fast moving; cool air masses meet and causes warm air masses to rise
Occluded front
Brings cooler temperatures; usually brings precipitation; a cold air mass overtakes a slower moving warm air massage forces warm air up. The cold air continues advancing until it meets another cold air mass
Stationary front
Little movement or moves back and forth in the same area; brings drizzle; cold air mass meets a warm air mass and result in little movement
Wind vane
It shows the direction wind is blowing from
Rain gauge
It measures how much rain has fallen
Thermometer
It measures temperatures
Hygrometer
Measures the moisture in the air
Barometer
It measures air pressure
