How is wind created?
A
by the uneven heating of the surface of the earth

Where are winds found to be higher? How come?
A
Higher altitudes – due to less obstacles to interact with (I.e. buildings, trees)

What is the windward and leeward sides of a mountain? Why does this matter?
A
Windward is the direction the wind is flowing (flows smoothly) – leeward is opposing side of wind direction – there is a greater chance the wind will fall down, potentially pushing the drone quicky to the surface due to the wind

What is low level wind shear?
A
the rapid and drastic change in wind speed or direction over a very small area

What is a micro burst?
A
A type of wind shear that can occur during a thunderstorm that produces downdrafts of 60+ mph
