Test Questions Missed 4 Flashcards
If an aircraft is “left downwind for runway one six” how can you figure out where its HEADING is?
Left downwind means they are flying parallel to the runway in the opposite direction – take the direction given (one six, or 160 degrees) and find the opposite 180 degree of it, which would be 340 degrees – so the position is 340 degrees
If a crew member or yourself loses consciousness? Do you report the accident to the FAA?
Yes, within 10 days
What effect does high density altitude have on the efficiency of a UA propeller?
Propeller efficiency is decreased due to fewer air molecules flying over the wing
What type of weather conditions can you expect with high relative humidity and low level temp inversion?
smooth air, poor visibility, fog, haze, or low clouds
To ensure that the unmanned aircraft center of gravity (CG) limits are not exceeded, follow the aircraft loading instructions specified in the:
Pilot’s Operating Handbook or UAS Flight Manual.
According to 14 CFR Part 107, the minimum age requirement to qualify to take the Part 107 Airman Knowledge test is:
16 years old
What are VFR and IFR military training routes used for?
low altitude high speed training
The National Airspace System (NAS) defines airspace under which two categories?
Regulatory and non-regulatory
A Local Airport Advisory (LAA) is provided by:
Flight service facilities (NOT the sectional chart)
Which factor would tend to increase the density altitude at a given airport?
An increase in ambient temp
Generally for aircraft, the most hazardous kind of thunderstorm is:
A squall line thunderstorm
Moisture is added to air by:
Evaporation and sublimation
Advection fog will most likely form when:
When an air mass inland from the coast in winter
When is pressure altitude equal to density altitude?
on a standard day – b/c density altitude is pressure altitude corrected for nonstandard temp
Where does wind shear occur?
At all altitudes
