what are the different ways of dealing with ethical issues
A
- BPS code of conduct- includes set of ethnic guidelines. Implemented by ethnic committees who use a cost-benefit approach
- dealing with informed consent- participants should be issued with a consent letter. If under 16, permission from a parent must be given
- deception and protection from harm- should be given a debrief, told what their data will be used for, given the right to withdraw and withhold data. Able to receive counselling afterwards.
- confidentiality- maintain anonymity
