Q

explain what a natural experiment entails.

A
  • the researcher measures the effect the IV has on the DV
  • The researcher has no control over the IV and therefore doesn’t change it

Q

explain what a quasi experiment entails.

A
  • the IV is based on an already existing difference between people (e.g. age/gender)
  • no one has manipulated this variable, it simply exists unlike a natural experiment
  • the independent variable cannot be changed
  • the DV may be naturally occurring.
