What are the functions of water?

A
  1. BLOOD- it is a component of blood that transports nutrients and oxygen around the body
  2. BLOOD PRESSURE: water helps to maintain blood pressure
  3. BOWEL HEALTH- prevent constipation
  4. CHEMICAL REACTIONS- assists reactions in the body eg. absorption of nutrients and digestion
  5. EXCRETION- water helps the kidneys to filter waste which is excreted as urine
  6. JOINTS- water provides liquid that keeps joints mobile
  7. SALIVA- key component of saliva which helps swallowing
  8. SPINAL FLUID- component of spinal fluid which cushions the nervous system
  9. TEMPERATURE CONTROL- regulate the body temperature via perspiration
  10. TEARS- form tears to lubricate eyes (prevent eyes becoming infected or dry)
