  • dehumanisation ‘foreign dust’
  • sematic field of violence - ppl arent doing enough to help or prevent war - overall message of the poem
  • asydetic listing - ‘Belfast. Beirut. phnom penh’ - wide range of conflicts which creates an aggressive plosive and disjointed sound - reflecting the nature of war
