• colonialism can put opposing groups in same nation and can cause ethnic conflicts (cold war?)
• economic issues / poverty - unemployment, poor government services - can lead to fighting for resources
• lack of education - less shared norms and values

How does war affect a country’s development

Answer 2

• military funding and repairing war damage etc can lead to less money going towards development
• war causes long term issues such as the outbreaks of disease (they spread rapidly in refugee camps) and famine and the education of the youth as schools may become too damaged or dangerous to attend, hindering future development
