Walkaround Flashcards
What’s the minimum battery voltage?
SOPM4-2.7
- 1 or both battery levels must be 22.5V
- If 21V and greater, then you can recharge the battery through an established AC source.
- If less than 21V, then call MX
How do we know if GPU power is available and usable?
- Available:
White AVAIL light illuminated. - Usable:
Electrical synoptic page - green line indicates flow
What do you do if established on Ground power and AC power from unit drops off?
SOPM 5-2.9
When AC power lost:
- power down: the aircraft using the “leaving the aircraft checklist”, then perform the power up using the “safety and power up checklist”
Why is it important to charge the batteries prior to departure?
To ensure maximum battery life in the event of abnormal operations.
What is the hydraulic fluid color?
Red/purple
Which hydraulic system do we normally taxi with?
Normally:
Hyd system 2 - bc, left, #1 engine normally started for SE taxi. After engine start: flaps >0, and brake released activates hyd 2. Plus Nose steering on Hyd 2.
If taxi non-standard - right, #2 engine only
-Hyd system 1 must be manually selected ON, bc the hyd 1 engine driven pump not running and elec hyd pump doesn’t turn on till
GS >50kts, flaps > 0.
-This will give us outboard brakes.
What is the PTU? What is its function?
AOM 14-11-110
Power Transfer Unit:
- Utilizes the the motor from hydraulic system 1 for Hydraulic system 2 pump.
- There is no fluid transfer.
- Assists in gear extension/retraction (specifically on go-around) during a loss of engine driven hydraulic pump 2, or Right, #2 engine failure.
- PTU will not work on the ground
- Operates automatically when:
1. Flaps greater than 0 or landing gear not UP
2. Engine driven pump 1 NOT FAIL (motor)
3. Hyd 2 Reservoir greater than 12%
