Q

What is the management for a volvulus?

A

decompression by a signmoidiscope and insertion of a flatus tube, if this does not work then flexible sigmoidoscope and formal decompression is needed,

Q

What is the management for a caecal volvulus?

A

laparotomy and ileocaecal resection

18
Q

What can cause a caecal volvulus?

A

younger people- intestinal malformation and excessive exercise, older patients- chronic constipations, distal obstruction and dementia
