Formation of volcanoes
1) 2 plates collide/separate, magma rises and fills the vent. this is an eruption + can be violent due to the pressure
2) Magma wells up from the magma chamber, cools + hardens when it reaches the surface
3) After lots of eruptions layers of ash + magma build up around the vent + a cone shaped mountain is formed, with the lava flowing from the crator
