Conversion aphonia
A
Complete loss of voice
VF movement irregular, ADDuction inadequate
Onset is SUDDEN OR proceeded by periods of voice loss
Associated with fear, stress, or a traumatic event
Non speech (i.e. Laughing, coughing, throat clearing) show no VF movement

Pubertonia
A
Child like voice after puberty
Voice is high pitched, sometimes hoarse, decreased loudness
Incomplete glottis closure
Decrease amplitude
MUST rule out laryngeal structural defects or anything that effects the larynx
