One of the dimensions of a window consisting of a single unit of glass set in a frame.
Parapet
The low edge of a flat roof.
Permeable
The rate at which water vapour diffuses through a sheet of any thickness of material. Permeable is measured in perms.
Perm
A unit of measure for permeance stated as he (Pa x s x m2) (nano gram of water per square metre of material per second under a pressure difference of one pascal) one perm = one ng.
Pilaster
A vertical projection from a concrete or masonry wall for Ed when a column is within a wall.
Pile
A slender deep foundation unit made from materials such as wood, steel, or concrete that is pre manufactured and placed by driving or screwing, or cast-in-place in a hole.
Plywood
A wood panel product made by bonding veneers together under heat and pressure with the veneer grains at right angles to each other.
Pressure-treated-wood
Wood impregnated with chemicals applied under pressure to increase its resistance to decay and insect infestation.
R Value
A numerical measurement of resistance to the flow of heat. In metric, known as RSI value.
Radiation
Transfer of heat by means of the straight-line passage of electromagnetic energy through air from a warm object to a cooler one.
