Observation

Hypothesis
a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
Experiment
a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact.
Data
facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.
Conclusion
the end or finish of an event or process
Theory
a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
Law
the description of a naturally occurring phenomena in the world
Independent Variable
An independent variable is exactly what it sounds like. It is a variable that stands alone and isn’t changed by the other variables you are trying to measure
Dependent Variable
Its value depends on changes in the independent variable.
Controlled Variable
A control variable is anything that is held constant or limited in a research study. It’s a variable that is not of interest to the study’s objectives, but is controlled because it could influence the outcomes.
Control Group
the group in an experiment that does not receive any change in the variable
Experimental Group
the group in an experiment that receives the variable being tested
