Chastised - reprimanded, severely scolded, beaten, thrashed
She was “coerced” by her friends to shop lift for fun and she was very afraid and uncomfortable about that incident.
Coerced - forced to do something by someone else

Cognition- perception, understanding, process of knowing or deciphering information
After she had Benadryl, she was not able to speak “coherently”. She had trouble speaking clearly and making sense.
Coherent- logically consistent, to make sense, hold it together
That scientist was considered a world famous intellectual “colossus” about global warming. He had a “colossal” amount of knowledge about this subject.
Colossus - powerful, a giant among his peers, gigantic structure or thing.
Colossal - huge, enormous, gigantic
After the Brazilian steak house dinner, I felt myself sinking into a self inflicted “comatose” of over eating
“comatose” - lethargic, slow/lazy, inertia, in a coma, unconcious
The house looked deceptively small from its exterior but was “commodious” once you walked into the house.
Commodious - spacious, ample
Ample could be used for commodious in size both for things and people
She “concocted” a tale about alien abduction to explain why she could not turn in her homework on time,
Concocted - make up or think up, formulate ( a magical brew)
The workers had to dig deep to lay a “conduit” for the new power lines
Conduit - something/pipe that helps carrying something through, cable, passage, pipe, gutter, sewer pipe, duct
The friends congregate every Sunday at Canyon coffee shop to catch up on gossip
Congregate - gather, group, get together

Connotation - implication, implied, association, nuance, coloring, shades of meaning

Consensus - general agreement as a group, deal, accord

Construe - interpret, understand, deduce, read, understand

Consummate - ultimate, perfectionist, flawless

Contiguous - adjacent, side by side, juxtaposed, neighboring, touching

Contingent - depends, conditional, possible, likely, provisional
She had a “contusion” on her head when she bumped into a metal pipe while running
Contusion - injury, bruise, bump

Corollary - logical conclusion, deduction, result

Covert - hidden, secretive, top secret , concealed, not in the open, clandestine, veiled, surreptitious

Crescendo - grow loud, a gradual increase in sound, intensity, or force, often in a musical piece
Her “culinary” experience ranged from Asian cooking to European deserts.
