Memory
An organism’s ability to acquire, store, retain, and eventually retrieve information.
Retrieval
The act of getting information out of memory storage and back into conscious awareness
Interference
refers to when new or old information disrupts the ability to recall other information from memory. It can be either proactive (old information interferes with new) or retroactive (new information interferes with old).
Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive neurological disorder that causes brain cells to degenerate and die, leading to a continuous decline in cognitive function
Forgetting
Failure at any time to recall an experiences, when attempting to do so, or to perform an action previously learned
Focus
The ability of an individual to direct mental effort on the most relevant information in the environment
Carbohydrates
a macronutrient, providing the body with energy, particularly for the brain and central nervous system, and influencing mood, memory, and decision-making
Dementia
Dementia is a general term for loss of memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia.
Nitrates
primarily refers to the recreational drug “poppers” or alkyl nitrites, which are inhaled for their vasodilating effects, potentially leading to euphoria, warmth, and dizziness
