Causes of vitreous haemorrhage?
1) proliferative diabetic retinopathy (most common)
2) posterior vitreous detachment
3) ocular trauma
Most common presentation of vitreous haemorrhage?
Painless visual loss or haze
Features of vitreous haemorrhage?
- painless visual loss or haze (commonest)
- red hue in the vision
- floaters or shadows/dark spots in the vision
Fundoscopy findings in vitreous haemorrhage?
may show haemorrhage in the vitreous cavity
role of Fluorescein angiography in wet ARMD?
A diagnostic procedure that uses a fluorescent dye and a camera to capture images of blood flow in the retina and choroid, the two layers at the back of the eye.
It is particularly useful for identifying macular neovascularisation, which is a hallmark of wet ARMD.
