What is the terminology for normal, high and low Respiratory rates
normal= Eupnoea
High= tachypneoae
low = bradypnoea
what are the normal ranges for respiratory rate?
12-20 breaths per minute
What is the terminology for high and low heart rates?
high = tachycardia
low = bradycardia
what are the normal ranges for heart rate? when considered high/low?
Normal:
60-100 (16 and above)
tachy = above 100
brady= below 60
What is the terminology for normal, high and low temperatures? What are their ranges?
Normal = Euthermia or afebrile
High= febrile
- Mild Hyperthermia: 37.5°C and 38.3°C
-Heat Stress: 38°C to 40°C.
-Heat Exhaustion: prolonged exposure to high temperatures: up to 40°C.
-Heat Stroke: Body temperature exceeds 40°C
low= Hypothermia
Mild Hypothermia: 32°C and 35°C.
Moderate Hypothermia: 28°C and 32°C.
Severe Hypothermia: 28°C.
What terminology is used to describe a heart rate?
regular or irregular
strong or weak
What terminology is used to describe oxygen satutartion and what are their ranges?
Normal= 95- 100%
Mild Hypoxameia = 91-94%
Moderate Hypoxamenia = 86- 90%
Severe Hypoxamenia = Below 85%
What are the normal ranges for blood pressure and the appropriate terminology
Normal - 120/80
Hypertension - 130/80 +
hypotension - 90/60
