Mike and Sophia are both students and seem to have a relaxed relationship as can be seen by the use of colloquial language in the concrete nouns ‘blokes’ and ‘guys’ and elision in ‘yeah’ and ‘cause’.
How do Mike and Sophia address each other?
They directly address each other through the 2nd person in interrogatives such as ‘weren’t you saying the other other day…’ Backchannel (‘yeah’) and paralinguistic features such as laughter also highlight their relaxed, friendly relationship.
