Vision/visual perceptual assessments Flashcards
clock drawing test
client is asked to reproduce a picture of a clock set to a specific time-this test visual memory, visual perception, executive functioning, abstract reasoning, selective attention
Ishihara color test
measure of color perception this test for red or green color defeciencies
contrast sensitivity
measures how a person can discern objects with fuzzy, poorly defined edges low contrast objects that may be darker or brighter on either side
glare recovery
measures how quick a person recovers vision after exposure to a bright light source
letter number cancellation
these assessments test visual scanning, selective attention, and visual spatial abilities as the client scans through a grouping of letters and has to select and draw a line through the targeted letter
ocular movement
test convergence, divergence, saccades etc clinician will move pencil finger etc. in space drawing shapes or letters and ask the patient to track the movement of the object
symbol digit modalities
measures attention, visual scanning and motor speed by asking the client to match a series of letters to symbols using a reference key
Useful field of view
assesses the ability to visually scan information using central and peripheral vision, cognitive processing, attention and to process that information in a timely fashion.
-also used to measure crash risk
