Intense physical force that is directed towards harming another individual which could cause injury.

A
- Desire to win at all costs
- threatened or frustrated
- nature of sport
- high level of comp = high arousal
- PED’S = heightened aggressions
- poor officiating

A
- Protective oof representative status
- consumption of alcohol or drugs
- rivalries = need to assert dominance
- copy violent behaviours
- influence of social media (arranged rival fights)
- poor officiating

What are some implication of violence in sport ? (2 minimum)
A
Critics: sport should reflect societies values and behaviours within sport. If violence is tackled in sport, then violence in society should be tackled.
