VFR Maneuvers Flashcards
In the Turbo, what Man “Hg and FF do we want on takeoff?
36.5” Hg
38 GPH
In the Turbo, what Man “Hg and FF do we want in Cruise?
30.5
What is Lean of Peak
Best Economy fuel burn
If you’re running LOP and you want to cool the cylinders, what do you do?
Bring Mixture control back (lean it more)
What does the LOP chart look like?
EGT along Y axis
FF along X axis
LOP = low EGT, low FF
ROP = slightly higher EGT, high FF
Power/Airspeed settings in the Traffic Pattern (22T)
Upwind: Pitch for 90 (22T), clear of obstacle, and positive rate of climb for Flap Retraction. 600’ AGL “CAPS Available”
Downwind: About 1 mile from runway. 40% - 100 knots
Abeam: Reduce power to ~30% - flaps 50% and start descent to maintain 95-100. Descent about 200-300’
Base: Flaps 100% - 90 knots
Final: 80 knots
AIM Point and Touchdown Point within first 1/3 of runway, and ~2 runway stripes apart.
