Q

Onspot automatic
chains Operation

A

Engage when traveling between 2-25 mph just
before reaching slippery conditions.
– Do not exceed 35 mph.
– Can stop on chains and start again, as long as
switch is still in the active position.

17
Q

Ladder Rack

A

The Extension Ladder is Now a 28’ 2 section ladder, it weighs 87
lbs. Compared to a 35’ 3 section weighing 129 lbs.

18
Q

Cavitation Protection

A

If PSG cannot recover, it switches to RPM Limit Mode.
* Pressure LED stays on.
* Displays flash and states Operator / RPM Limit.
* Pressure Setting Does not change, but Preset is disabled.
* PSG acts like manual throttle.
* If pressure recovers or operator corrects, returns to Pressure
Control Mode – normal operation.
* If it does not recover but stays above 45 psi, remains in RPM
Limit Mode.

If pressure falls below 45 psi, but above 15 psi, enters
Lo Water Mode
– Displays Lo Water
– Sets rpm at 1100
– After seven seconds goes to idle.
* If pressure falls below 15 psi, enters No Water Mode
– Displays No Water
– Goes to idle.

19
Q

Pressure correction

A

In the RPM Limit, Lo Water, No Water Modes,
if the pressure recovers, it goes back to
Pressure Control. If the operator intervenes
and brings the RPMs to a point where it is not
in cavitation, it goes back to the Pressure
Control Mode.
* If it goes to idle and stays more than 3
minutes, it enters the Idle mode and cancels
the pressure setting.

20
Q

Intake Relief Valves

A

will be left preset at
190.
– May cause vacuum leak when
drafting.

21
Q

Booster Reel

A

Located on Driver’s side
pump panel.
* 200’ of 1” hose.
* Very high friction loss
and designed for lower
flows (up to 60 GPM).
* Friction loss for 30gpm
is 37 psi per 50’
section.

22
Q

Foam System

A
  • Foam is plumbed to all crosslays, and
    the hose reel.
  • System automatically injects correct
amount of foam to match flow.
  • Preset at 0.4% for Class B fires.
Reduce to 0.1% for Class A fires.
  • Can flow 3,000 gpm at 0.4%.
  • 20-gallon tank 7,500 gallons of
    solution at 0.4%.
