18
Q

PSG “Preset” pressure and RPM

A

125 PSI when in “Pressure” mode

1000 RPM when in “RPM” mode

19
Q

Cavitation protection - Pressure Mode

A
  • Pressure falls -> PSG throttles up
  • If PSG can’t recover, switches to RPM Limit
  • If pressure recovers, returns to Pressure mode
  • If does not recover but stays above 45 psi, remains in RPM limit
    - If below 45 but >15 –> “Lo Water” model –> RPM set at 1100, idle after 7 seconds
    - If below 15 psi –> No Water Mode, goes to idle
20
Q

Cavitation protection – What happens if pressure resolves while in RPM Limit/Lo Water/No Water mode?

A

PSG returns to Pressure Mode

21
Q

Cavitation Protection – In RPM Limit/Lo Water/No Water mode –> What happens if in idle and pressure does not resolve?

A

After 3 mins in idle, enters idle mode and pressure setting is canceled

22
Q

Booster reel hose length/diameter, flow and friction loss

A

Length: 150’
Diameter: 1”
Flow: Designed for less than 50 GPM
FL: @ 30 GPM FL is 37 PSI per 50’ section

23
Q

Foam system: tank size/flow capacity

A

30 gallon tank
Can flow 3000 gpm at 0.4%
Can flow 7500 gallons water with 30 gal foam tank at 0.4%

24
Q

Foam system: concentrate % for class A and class B fires

A

Class A: 0.1%

Class B: 0.4%

25
