Vasculature of hand Flashcards
What are the arteries of the hand?
Superficial palmar arch
deep palmar arch
dorsal intercarpal arterial arch
princeps pollicis arch
What does the superficial palmar arterial arch give rise to?
3 common palmar digital arteries - gives rise to proper palmer digital arteries
What does the proper palmer digital arteries supply?
digits on their side of each digit
what supplies the superficial palmar arch?
mostly ulner artery
What is the supply of the common palmar digital arteries in 50% of people?
the superficial palmar arch is absent in ~50% of people and the common palmar digits rise of the ulnar artery
What does the deep palmar arch supply?
palmar metacarpal arteries
What does the deep palmar arteries arise from?
more from radial, less from ulnar
What does the palmar metacarpal arteries anatomies with?
common palmar digital arteries
Where does the dorsal inter carpal arterial arch arise?
radial artery
small arch
what artery does the dorsal inter carpal arterial arch anastomose with?
ulnar artery
What does the deep inter carpal arterial arch supply?
dorsal metacarpal arteries which help supply digits on the radial and ulnar sides by supplying proximal digits
What does the radial artery split into?
dives deep to 1st dorsal interroseous artery and divides into terminal princeps pollicis A and deep palmar arterial arch
What is the course of princeps pollicis?
ascends thumb and gives rise to radialis indices artery (lateral side of the second digit)
What is the venous drainage of the palm?
begin the cephalic and basilica veins
