What does the thenar compartment contain?
muscles of the thumb:
opponenns
abductor polllicis brevis
flexor pollicis brevis
What is in the central compartment?
long floor tendons
arteries and nerves
Midpalmar & thenar subdivisions
What is in the Hypothenar compartment?
muscles of small digit:
opponens
abductor digiti minimi
flexor digiti minimi
What is in the adductor compartment?
adductor pollicis muscle
What is in the interosseus compartment?
muscle of same name
What is in the extensor compartment?
extensor tendons
What does the palmar aperneurosis cover?
central space superficially on palmar surface
What are the attachments of the palmar apernerosis?
proximal- tendon of the palmaris longus muscle
distal - bands towards digits (with transverse bands interconnecting them)
lateral - deep fascia covering thenar
medial - deep fascia covering hypothenar
What does the palmar aperonoseus attach to when the palmaris longus is absent?
thenar fascia
