Femoral Popliteal surgery
used to treat femoral artery disease
bypass the blocked portion of the main artery in the leg using a piece of another blood vessel
Femoral Endartechomy
Removal of plaque from the Femoral Artery. When the femoral artery, is stenosed or blocked, an operation can be used to remove the plaque from the artery in order to improve flow and circulation.
Femoropopliteal bypass
a view taken from another area of the leg (graft)
blood is rerecruted through the graft and around the blockage
Femoral embolectomy
a plastic balloon is slid down the artery. the clot is then pulled out through the opening in the artery
Femoral artery
largest artery in the thigh
a blockage would be due to a plaque build up or atherosclerosis
artery in the groin
